New Rules of Measurement (NRM) provides an integrated process to measure and value building works, through Life Cycle Cost measurement. The presentation will deal with the origin of NRM and conclude with insights as to how it will raise the profile of the Quantity Surveyor, irrespective of where they are employed, by demonstrating the importance of measurement in the cost management process.
Synopsis: Every week rising damp is diagnosed in 5,000 British homes. Jeff Howell is a Chartered Surveyor, and author of "The Rising Damp Myth", and will explain how this mythical defect has become accepted as fact. He will also offer advice on how to counter the claims of the damp-proofing industry.
